Wastewater Treatment Operator – 1st & 2nd Shift (Entry Level)
Location: Dade City, FL 33525
Pay: $16–$18 per hour (DOE)
Schedule:
- 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Training: 1st Shift (5:00 AM–3:00 PM during first week)
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking an entry-level Wastewater Treatment Operator to support our recycling operations by operating, monitoring, and maintaining our wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with environmental standards. This role plays a vital part in our commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Collect and test water samples using a pH meter and adjust treatment processes as needed.
- Monitor and manage wastewater storage tank levels.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
- Analyze water quality data and accurately document results.
- Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
- Adhere to company policies for material handling and storage.
- Work effectively in environments with airborne dust, dirt, and fluctuating temperatures.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math skills needed for treatment calculations.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with chemicals or processed materials preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in conditions with dust and temperature changes.
- Must wear employer-provided PPE and provide your own knee-high, steel-toed rubber boots.
- Must maintain strong situational awareness and judgment.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
