Position: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Shift : 1st

Pay : $30.00 - $50.00 +

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of equipment used in construction, mulch and topsoil production, and related industries. The mechanic will primarily work in a shop setting but may also be exposed to outdoor elements. The main responsibility is maintaining and repairing the company’s fleet, handling everything from minor leaks to major rebuilds.

Responsibilities:

• Uphold the company’s commitment to safety at all times.
• Inspect machines and trucks to determine their overall condition, providing necessary maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical system issues.
• Restore equipment and trucks to working order through component repair or replacement.
• Communicate effectively with company associates and vendors.
• Maintain accurate records, manage parts ordering, and understand warranty provisions.
• Use operator, parts, and maintenance manuals to determine proper procedures and identify parts.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment and trucks.
• Hands-on experience with equipment such as Komatsu backhoes, loaders, excavators, dozers, Mack dump trucks, log grinders, topsoil screeners, material conveyors, and other specialty machinery.
• Familiarity with construction, mulch production, or farm equipment (e.g., dozers, tractors) or military heavy equipment (e.g., MRAP vehicles, HMEE, tanks).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic and excellent human relations skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
