Director of Procurement - Americas
Location: Taylor, Michigan (90% onsite)
Travel: Approx. 10% to suppliers across the region

Take ownership of procurement across the Americas – including Mexico and Brazil – with the autonomy to lead category strategy, supplier performance, and cost optimisation at scale.
Position Summary
You’ll oversee all procurement activities across the Americas region – from supplier negotiation and sourcing strategy to cost reduction, supplier development, and compliance. This role ensures 100% material availability at the lowest total cost of ownership, while meeting high quality and sustainability standards.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead procurement operations across the Americas - managing key categories (DINP, fillers, solvents, packaging, tools) and coordinating with sites in the U.S., Mexico, and Brazil
- Negotiate strategic agreements with regional and local suppliers to optimise cost, availability, and quality
- Strengthen supplier base through market analysis, risk mitigation, TPC tracking, and development of competitive new partners
- Collaborate with senior leaders across Global Procurement and the Americas on sourcing strategy, procurement process improvements, and strategic projects such as cost recovery and make-or-buy analysis
What You’ll Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Inventory Control, or related field
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of professional experience in purchasing or logistics
- Experience within the automotive industry is essential, along with a proven track record of purchasing chemicals, raw materials, or related products
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with a commercial mindset
- Fluency in English (Spanish or German advantageous)
- Systems mindset – confident in Excel, with ERP or QAD exposure preferred
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities with the capacity to work under pressure.
